Publications Advisory and Review Committee (PARC)

The committee is established according to the following policy:


1. The Committee will be honorary and membership will be by invitation, at the discretion of the Executive Committee, advised by the Director of Publications.
2. The Committee will be purely advisory, not executive, and will make recommendations to the Director of Publications and/or the Executive Committee.
3. No specific term limits will be placed on membership of the Committee, and no specific limit on the number of members, which should be sufficient to carry out the Committee's functions.
4. Membership of the Committee will consist of eminent drama/theatre and education practitioners and scholars.
5. Membership of the Committee will incorporate the three IDEA languages, and include representation from active IDEA members in all continents, and a representative from both the immediate past and the upcoming Congress.
6. The Director of Publications will be the Convenor of the Committee.
7. The functions of the Committee fall under two broad headings:


Advisory:
- to advise and respond to the Director of Publications and Executive Committee on publications policy
- to seek out material for the IDEA journal or other publications, or news and other data regarding projects in drama/theatre and education that are exceptional and appropriate for world-wide dissemination or publication
- to survey members to evaluate IDEA Publications in relation to IDEA’s aims.


Review:
- to review critically manuscripts, journal papers, teaching resources and other submitted materials, and make recommendations on their suitability for publication.
- the primary review responsibility will be for the Journal.
- the Committee will operate both as a research publication board of review, and as an artistic peer review assessment board for practical projects, teaching resources etc.
- papers, manuscripts etc. will normally be reviewed by two members of the Committee, chosen for their appropriateness of artistic, practical educational and/or scholastic expertise.
